Do you need to organize your day? Have a video conference? Need to work on chores? These are some questions that we face ever since we’ve started remote working during the coronavirus pandemic.

In Detour Maps we’ve been working for more than 10 years with a remote multidisciplinary team; so, thinking of our community, we want to share our experiences with you.

For your meetings

Zoom

A reliable video-conference platform. You can hold a meeting with up to 100 people, allowing you to record sessions and share your screen.

Google Hangouts

A Google add-on that allows you to share your screen. Lets you meet with up to 10 users while using the smartphone version and 15 users while using the computer version. You only need a google account to use it.

Skype

Skype is an app, free of charge, that not only allows you to make video calls, but also allows you to call using phone numbers and landlines(?). It also lets you screen share and have private conversations. You can make a video-call with up to 50 participants.

Manage projects and files

Trello

This website/app allows you to communicate with your team and organize daily tasks and sort them by priority. That way, you know how far along each one of your team members is.

Drive

Drive is a tool that comes with Google which allows you to enable cloud storage and lets you modify a document in real time and co-create with other users.

Dropbox

Allows you to organize and store files in the cloud. It also lets you share them with your co-workers through links.

Google Calendar

You can organize your meetings or any pending meetings in a calendar so you don’t forget them.

Teamviewer

An application that allows you to obtain remote access from your computer or other servers and use it from any place with an internet connection.
