BACP is pleased to announce that Chicago is officially in Phase 5 as of today!
Thank you to the life-saving COVID-19 vaccine and the hard work of the business community over the past fifteen months.
For businesses, Phase 5 means the lifting of most mandatory regulations, including capacity limits, the use of masks, and social distancing. The specific commercial activities that were prohibited can now be completely reopened but it is advisable to continue maintaining social distancing and continue using the masks in this Phase 5, especially for people who have not yet been vaccinated, which we hope will do so as soon as possible.
On the other hand, we hope that companies will choose to maintain certain regulations for the safety of their customers and employees, including the mandatory use of masks.
Finally, it should be noted that the existing hour limitations will remain in effect until June 26. This means that the sale of alcoholic beverages must end at 11:00 pm. Bars or restaurants with a tavern license may operate their normal hours; (between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.) Monday to Saturday morning and between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning).
As we enter Phase 5, BACP wants to send a big thank you to all of our businesses across the city for their dedication and sacrifice during the past year during the pandemic.
